Key Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room before surgery, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready. Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile items during procedures. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Count surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after surgery to ensure patient safety. Monitor the sterile field and report any contamination immediately. Assist in positioning, draping, and preparing the patient for surgery. Handle specimens correctly and send them for laboratory analysis as required. Assist in cleaning and sterilizing instruments after procedures. Document intra - operative nursing care accurately. Coordinate with anesthetists, surgeons, and OT technicians for smooth workflow. Respond promptly to emergencies in the operating room.

Qualifications

RequirementsGNM / B.Sc. Nursing qualification Valid Nursing Council Registration Experience in Operation Theatre preferred Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures Strong understanding of aseptic techniques Positive communication and teamwork skills Ability to work under pressure and long hours Skills
